Due to the Easter Holiday, and full flights, we can't get out of here until Tuesday the 14th. We're tentatively scheduled to arrive in Detroit Tuesday evening, at 6:55 PM. Needless to say this is a little bit of a blow...being done with the adoption yet unable to leave pretty much sucks.
We're thankful as can be for our boys - they're wonderful, and cute, and funny - but please pray for our sanity in these last few days...as each day feels like a huge, gaping expanse of time needing to be filled in a dirty, expensive city and/or a 400 square foot flat. Neither option feels great.
Oh, and by way of a PS, all of this could change and probably will...because that's par for the course over here (things changing). Though if it does we'll let you know...

Sorry guys-thats annoying. God must have some kindness for you in it though. So... going to put up any more pics of your cute boys?
ReplyDeleteMan, we were excited to see your family of 4 on Easter. How frustrating. We will pray for the time to pass quickly and for extra patience and grace.
ReplyDeleteWhy is there a bunch of Easter traffic? Isn't the Orthodox pascha a week later than the Western church's Easter this year? (which would put it after you return home)
ReplyDeleteAlso, that does suck. Use the time wisely: watch CARMAN: THE CHAMPION. It's clean and the whole family will love it.
I'm so, so sorry that your homecoming won't be in time for Easter. :( I hope you can find a new, special way to celebrate the resurrection amid these disappointing circumstances.

ReplyDelete...like watching CARMAN: THE CHAMPION.
OH NO!! We'll keep checking for status changes.
ReplyDeleteZSB -- are you just showing off -- you and your "Orthodox pascha" ?!?!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, they will be celebrating Easter here next week -- so it's sort of like Easter leap year for us, we'll just miss any kind of celebration. Anyone who feels sorry for us is welcome to get me a big stash of Easter candy to nosh on when I return.
The Easter traffic jam was not getting from Kiev to the US, but would have had us stranded in Washington DC, and unable to get to MI. Which sounded a lot better to us (at least we could get some fast food!) but would have ended up costing a lot more in DC hotels and aforementioned fast food. So we decided to suck it up and stay put until Tuesday.
And I will be posting more cute pictures of the boys soon -- stay posted!

ReplyDeleteI know you've read this one before, but I just came across it again. Cheer up, brother!
"There is a strong drift toward the hard theological left. Some emergent types want to recast Jesus as a limp-wrist hippie in a dress with a lot of product in His hair, who drank decaf and made pithy Zen statements about life while shopping for the perfect pair of shoes. But in Revelation, Jesus is a prize fighter with a tattoo down His leg, a sword in His hand and the commitment to make someone bleed. That is a guy I can worship. I cannot worship the hippie, diaper, halo Christ because I cannot worship a guy I can beat up." - Mark Driscoll
Zach - that's classic Driscoll! One of my favorite MD quotes...actually probably my all time fave. See you guys soon!
